Our 13-month calendars incorporate numerology, western (tropical) astrology and Chinese / Vietnamese astrology, holidays, moon phases, planetary transits and more.
Each Lunar New Year is represented by a different animal from the Chinese/Vietnamese zodiac.

As a result, the traits, characteristics, and numerology of the representative animal are reflected in our Earthly realm throughout the year. And you can find the traits and characteristics for each year's animal zodiac sign  highlighted in our annual 13-month calendar.

It is wise to respect and embrace these traits and characteristics during the year in order to best leverage the energies to your advantage!

The Lunar New Year (also known as the Chinese/Vietnamese New Year) begins on a different date each year—which is the date of the first new moon that occurs between January  20-February 21.

This new moon marks the beginning of a lunar calendar or lunisolar calendar year, whose months are moon cycles. The event is celebrated by numerous cultures in various ways on different dates.

China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Vietnam celebrate the Lunisolar New Year on the same date. See chart below.

According to Chinese mythology, the Jade Emperor created a race amongst 12 animals to determine their “order” or placement on the zodiac wheel. For example, the Dragon is the 5th zodiac sign because the Dragon came into 5th place in The Great Race.
